Julius Caesar
by William Shakespeare
Directed by George Ferencz

| George Ferencz has directed this play with skill, sensitivity to the original text and wit
you can go to Stratford this summer to see Shakespeare or you can go downtown this weekend and see as fine a production as you are likely to see anywhere. We highly recommend the latter course of action.

Ferencz has a talented eye for staging. He begins scenes by creating a sense of life that literally spills over the sides of his main performing space (in this case, a small platform center stage). Gradually all this activity is peeled away and Ferencz hones in on the theatrical event.

George Ferencz directs with a flair for the raw emotions in Shakespeares language. Ferencz has successfully drawn out an aspect of the play that is not immediately obvious. Hail, Caesar.
