Three Sam Shepard plays, all involving music, all from the exciting, wildly allusive middle period between the early imagistic one-acts and the more traditionally structured full-lenghters, make a hot trio. The director is George Ferencz, whose Tooth of Crime revival last year was as strong and focused a staging as the play has had here. Angel City is a horror movie about the real film-biz monsters-producers; Suicide in Bb investigates a jazzmans trip to the fourth dimension; Back Bog Beast Bait has monsters and musicians meeting in the Louisiana bayou. Whole lotta Shepard goin on.
